BIO

Louise joined CDS Law & Tax in 2017 and works primarily for commercial clients in the areas of commercial litigation, contracts and commercial advisory. She has experience in running high-value contentious cases before both the Commercial Court and the High Court.

Prior to joining CDS Law & Tax Louise practised as a Barrister before specialising in tax by gaining invaluable practical experience in a tax practice in Cork.

Louise advises clients on a broad range of issues including the resolution of large-scale insurance claims following fires, tax appeals, breach of contract, ejectment proceedings, injunctions, employment disputes, directors’ disqualification and restrictions, insolvency and debt resolution.

Louise is skilled in advising clients in niche industries including areas such as the critical evaluation of the interaction between governing rules, contracts, Irish law and EU Regulations, and also caters to the general commercial needs of such organisations.

EXPERIENCE (CASE)

• The issuing of Commercial Court proceedings and settlement of same in the insurance sector resulting in settlement. Significant work was undertaken in the interim period to assist the business in finding alternative sources of funding from banks to ensure the survival of a business while the matter was proceeding.
• Commercial Court Proceedings relating to protective measures taken to prevent an alleged under sale of a commercial property by a Receiver.
• A series of injunctive proceedings in the High Court regarding the use of Social Media against a large scale organisation.
